COMING....

OCTOBER through DECEMBER

Poetic Language for Creative Writers

Discover how to look at your prose writing with a poetic eye. Poetic devices, such as rhythm, metaphor and symbolism can have a large effect on the sound and imagery of any prose writing. In this workshop we will practice shaping our own poems and prose with an eye toward narrative, texture, imagery, and characterization. Be inspired by the poetic language of writers who have written both poetry and prose and discover how to infuse the vibrancy of poetry into your prose writing. Through in class exercises, you will practice a poetic approach to prose writing, which will show how the two genres can overlap and how they can successfully shape your own work.

Note: Open to all levels.
